Tables and flags

What every column means, what the colours say, and how to read the notes behind the count in the last column.

Updated Sep 14, 2026

Every audit is the same shape: one row per player, the numeric columns first, and the notes folded behind a count in the last column. The colours are the verdict; the notes are the reasons.

Reading any table#

  • Green passes, red fails, amber needs a look. A cell with no colour is informational, or the rule does not apply to that player (tanks are not coloured on shadow resistance, healers are not judged on hit).
  • Sort by clicking a column header; click again to flip. "17/21" sorts by the ratio, "72%" by the number, blanks and "?" sink to the bottom.
  • Only players who need attention hides every row with nothing red and no notes. That is also the set Copy for Discord pastes.
  • Notes (the last column) shows how many notes a player has — flags, missing slots, warnings, the potion breakdown. Click the count to open that player's notes under the row; Show every player's notes opens them all.
  • A ? with an amber tone means the log did not carry the fact and nobody has set it: a race, a talent rank, a profession. Signed-in members of the guild can click it and set the value in place.
  • The flag icon beside a player's name reports that row as wrong. It sends the row as you saw it, so "this looks wrong" arrives with the evidence.

Shadow resistance#

ColumnMeaning
Race / ClassThe race matters: Draenei and Undead carry +10. A ? means the log did not say and the roster does not know.
EngineerRocket Boots take a player out of a Fatal Attraction, so being an Engineer is worth knowing on this fight and no other.
Gear SRResistance from equipped items alone: fixed resistance, green suffixes, enchants, kits, the head glyph, gems.
Buffed SRGear SR plus the buffs at the pull, the racial, and the talent rank on file.
Items / Greens / Enchants / GemsWhere the gear number comes from, so a low total can be traced.
Shadow Protection, Flask, Broiled Bloodfin, Gift of Arthas, Mage / Demon ArmorThe five buff groups, each with its value at the pull. Buffs inside one group do not stack; the largest counts.
Racial, Talent+10 for the two races; Magic Absorption for Mages, from the roster.

The targets are buffed ≥ 244 and gear ≥ 160 by default; a guild can set its own. Tanks are listed but never coloured — a tank is not expected to gear for shadow resistance. The full arithmetic is in Shadow resistance.

Flags you will see: No Glyph of Shadow Warding (+20), Shadow Armor Kits on 2/4 slots, No SR cloak enchant (+15 available), Only Shadow Protection (+45) at pull (a lower rank was cast), No Flask of Chromatic Wonder (+35), Race unknown — set it in the guild's roster settings, Estimated green suffix value: … (an unlisted green was interpolated from its slot and item level), and Unknown items: [id, id] — see Unknown items.

Enchants & gems#

ColumnMeaning
EnchantsEnchanted slots over slots that should be: head, shoulder, back, chest, wrist, hands, legs, feet and main hand always; off hand when it is a shield or a weapon; ranged when it is a bow, gun or crossbow. Rings follow the guild's ring policy.
GemsFilled sockets over sockets.
StatusOK when both are complete; MISSING otherwise.
MissingThe slots that are short, one entry each: Chest: no enchant, Legs: 2 empty sockets, Head: meta socket without a meta gem.
WarningsInformational, never a status: a green-quality gem in a socket, no temporary weapon enchant (oil, stone or poison) at the pull.

Ring policy — ring enchants exist only for Enchanters. auto (the default) requires both rings once one of them is enchanted; require demands both on everyone; ignore never counts rings. The guild page sets it; a link can override it with ?rings=.

Below the table, Gear sanity lists what an inspect would show at a glance: PvP pieces worn to a raid (by item name, or by resilience rating when the item list does not name them), a required slot left empty, armor lighter than the class can wear, and an item level more than 15 under the raid's median. These are conversations, not fails.

Buffs at the pull#

Each column is a buff family: Fortitude, Spirit, Intellect, Mark of the Wild, Shadow Protection, Kings, Might, Wisdom, Salvation, Sanctuary, Light, Shout, Blood Pact. Mana buffs apply to mana classes only.

The rule behind the colours is half the raid. Warcraft Logs only learns of a buff when it sees it applied or removed, so a Fortitude cast before logging began is invisible on everyone who kept it and visible on the few who died and were re-buffed. A family is therefore only expected when at least half of the players it applies to visibly carry it — the actionable case, "most of the raid has it and Bob does not" — and never when it is rare or absent. Paladin blessings are judged by count and by role under the same rule.

Flags: no Fortitude, low-rank Fortitude, 2 of 3 blessings, and Salvation on a tank, which is the one that loses a fight.

Hit & expertise#

ColumnMeaning
AttackMelee, ranged or spell — which cap applies. Healers are not judged.
Rating / GearHit rating at the pull and the percent it buys: 15.77 rating per 1% melee, 12.62 per 1% spell, 3.94 per point of expertise.
TalentsThe talent hit the spec usually carries, assumed from where the points went (a Shadow priest is credited Shadow Focus, a Combat rogue Precision) and said out loud here.
Total / Cap / Short byAgainst a raid boss: 9% melee and ranged, 16% spell, 26 expertise.

Draenei in the party (Heroic Presence, +1%) are not known from the log and not credited; the note says so. Flags: under the spell hit cap by 2.3% (29 rating), over the melee hit cap by 1.1% (≈17 rating wasted), 4 expertise short of the dodge cap.

Consumables#

The one audit that covers the whole night rather than one pull.

ColumnMeaning
FightsBoss fights attended.
Flask / elixirsAverage uptime over attended fights. A flask, or a battle elixir with a guardian elixir, is a full setup; a single elixir counts as 50%.
FoodAverage Well Fed uptime; a fight below 90% is flagged (died and did not re-eat, or ate late).
PotionsPotions used over the budget. The budget is one potion per two minutes of boss fight, plus one — the pull — because every potion in TBC shares one two-minute cooldown.
Healthstones, Drums, RunesCounts on boss fights. Drums say used for the Leatherworker who beat them and received for everyone else.

The Potion breakdown note lists what was drunk, how many were drunk at the pull, and how many went on trash. Include trash on the toolbar widens the count to every pull.

Flags: No flask or elixir in 3/12 fights, Only one elixir, no flask, in 2 fights — counts as 50% coverage, No food in 6/12 fights, 0 potions in 5/5 boss fights, Potion usage 6/21 possible (29%), and Wrong for a tank: Flask of Pure Death (3/5 fights) for the clear misfits only — a feral tank on Relentless Assault is a choice, not a mistake.

Attendance#

Boss pulls attended, kills, all pulls including trash, and the first and last pull each player was in. Flags: joined late: first pull Gurtogg Bloodboil (missed 3), left early, sat out Mother Shahraz, Illidan Stormrage, trash only. The Swaps table below pairs the players who traded places between pulls.
