Getting started
Install Broken Dice on the host's client, rehearse a game solo in test mode, then open the pit on raid night.
Updated Sep 14, 2026
Broken Dice is a dice pit for gold gambling on raid night, run by one host. Participants install nothing: they type 1 to enter, /roll to play, and STAY in Twenty-One, all in normal party or raid chat. The addon announces, keeps permanent boards, and nets the debts so nobody argues about who owes whom.
Install (host only)#
- Copy the
BrokenDicefolder —BrokenDice.tocplus the Lua files — intoInterface\AddOns\of your TBC Classic Anniversary client. The folder must be named exactlyBrokenDice. /reloador restart the game. Details and the current build's caveats are on the tool page.
Rehearse before the raid#
Test mode runs a whole game solo, with the addon playing the other entrants, so the first time you host is not the first time you have seen the flow. Rehearse solo with test mode takes about five minutes.
The five games#
| Command | Game |
|---|---|
/bd hl 100 | High/Low for a 100g stake: everyone rolls 1–100, high pays low. |
/bd revenge 100 | Zolana's Revenge — the high roller pays the low roller and the second-lowest gets revenge. |
/bd roulette 20 90 | Fusion Roulette: a 20g ante per round, the pot goes to whoever rolls the trigger (90) or above. |
/bd dr 200 | Death Roll for a 200g wager; three or more entrants get a bracket. |
/bd 21 50 | Twenty-One for a 50g wager: roll toward 21, STAY to hold. |
/bd lock closes the join window early; /bd resolve ends the roll phase (entrants who never rolled take a loss but never a transfer); /bd cancel aborts and records nothing. Every command with its exact meaning is under Commands.
Settling up#
Losses and wins go into a ledger that nets itself: if Aemon owes Bael 50 and Bael owes Aemon 30, the ledger says Aemon pays 20. /bd debts prints who pays whom with each debt's age; /bd nag whispers every debtor; /bd paid Debtor Creditor clears one. /bd summary posts tonight's Pit Report, and /bd top3 win or /bd top3 lose post the boards' bragging rights. Settle up with the debt ledger shows the flow at the end of the night, and how alts are merged so a raider's record follows them.
